Q: What are the 4 cs people talk about?
A: These
are the four factors that control a diamond's appearance. They are known as Colour, Clarity, quality of Cut and Carat weight. Do your research before you buy any bigger diamond, and make sure you buy diamonds from a reputable stone
dealer. At Studio JM all our diamonds are the best possible quality for the price and all diamonds with weight over 0.5 carat are supplied with a certificate free of charge.
Carat.......Refers to weight of stone one carat equals to 0.2 of gram
This is often unfairly taken as the most important factor.
Colour ..D-X (letters of alphabet)
Mostly diamonds go from clear to shades of yellow
and brown. Other natural colours are rare
and therefore more expensive. Average colours are usually G-H
Clarity....IF (internally flawless)
VVS1-VVS2 (Very, very slight inclusions)
VS1-VS2 (Very slight inclusions)
SI1-SI2 (Slight inclusions)
I1-I2-I3 (Inclusions visible to naked eye)
Average clarity is VS1-SI2
Cut.......This refers to symetry, proportions and quality
of polish of external facets. Good, Very good or Excellent
Price of stone can differ hugely with different quality. You could pay several times more for top quality diamond than for under average one. The trick is to get a balance between your budget and appearance of your diamonds. Good jeweller
should explain to you your options.

Q: Why is your jewellery so expensive?
A: To create
custom design takes time and to create an original piece of jewellery on its own is much more difficult than mass-produced item. If you want
something special, original and you do not wish for any other people to have the same item you can expect to pay extra.

 |
|
Q:What is the average size of diamond for engagement ring?
A: Some say
size doesn't matter. The size of diamond is more or less up to your judgement, but we would suggest that you can't go wrong with 0.5 carat diamond or more.

|
Q: How long will it take to get my item of jewellery?
A: Custom
made jewellery always takes a little bit longer to make. Allow 3-8 weeks although you will be given a more detailed production time when you receive your quote

right finger
size?

can't provide us with the finger size, generally we will send you an average one and get it sized later. To get tip how to measure finger size

A: As our
jewellery is made on site in the StudioJM workshop we can usually make alterations to suit your specification. Just send an email or picture with your
idea.

Q: What Is The Difference Between Precious And Semi-Precious Gems?
A: In times
past, the term "precious gem" was used to describe gemstones such as diamonds, emeralds, rubys, sapphires, precious opals, and pearls. The term semi-precious referred to all other gemstones. Today, most jewellers and gemmologists avoid using these terms as they do not
accurately reflect the true value of these gems. In fact, some semi-precious gems previously classed as semi-precious (natural alexandrite and demantoid garnet for example), are so rare that they can command prices in many cases exceeding those of emeralds, rubys, and even
diamonds.

Q: What is the difference between white, yellow and rose gold?
A: White gold
is an alloy of gold and some white metals such as silver, palladium or platinum, while Yellow and Rose gold has also some amount of copper. By adding other alloys we can change the colour even to slightly blue or green.
If you stand in a middle of Europe, the further east you look the more yellow and red the jewellery will be. If you look west, the jewellery will be more white. (white gold, palladium, platinum). If you like diamond jewellery, diamonds look the best in platinum or
white gold.
